Our Disputes & Arbitration practice represents clients across commercial, civil and criminal matters, as well as domestic and international arbitration. We combine rigorous legal analysis with practical dispute strategy, focusing on early assessment, effective risk management and resolution where it best serves the client's interests.
Capabilities
- Commercial Litigation We represent businesses and stakeholders in complex commercial disputes, including contractual claims, shareholder and joint venture disputes, business torts and multi-party litigation. Where appropriate, we also advise on pre-litigation strategy, negotiation and settlement.
- Civil Litigation We handle a broad range of civil disputes, combining procedural depth with practical case strategy. Our work spans property, contractual, recovery and other civil claims across courts and appellate forums.
- Criminal Litigation We represent individuals and organisations across criminal proceedings, from complaints and investigations to trial, bail, appeal and related proceedings. Our approach combines careful case preparation with strategic management of matters involving significant legal, commercial or reputational consequences.
- Domestic Arbitration We represent clients in ad hoc and institutional arbitration under Indian law, acting across the lifecycle of a dispute, from pre-arbitration strategy and interim relief to proceedings, awards and post-award challenges or enforcement.
- International Arbitration We advise and represent Indian and international clients in cross-border and international arbitration, including matters involving foreign parties, offshore structures and multi-jurisdictional disputes. Our work includes proceedings under leading institutional rules, as well as the Indian court proceedings that may arise alongside international arbitration.
- Corporate & Shareholder Disputes We advise shareholders, promoters, investors and companies on disputes involving ownership, control and corporate governance. Our work includes shareholder deadlock, minority protection, oppression and mismanagement claims, valuation disputes, exit disputes, breach of warranty and indemnity claims, and post-acquisition disputes.
- Enforcement & Recovery We assist clients with the enforcement of judgments and arbitral awards, recovery of dues and the strategic use of pre- and post-litigation remedies. Our work spans pre-arbitration strategy, interim measures, enforcement proceedings, execution and negotiated recovery.
- Pre-Litigation & Dispute Strategy Not every dispute needs to begin in court. We advise clients at the earliest stage of a potential conflict, assessing legal and commercial risk, preserving claims and evidence, developing negotiation strategy and determining the most effective route to resolution.
